Intelligent sensor mats are special floor mats that are equipped with sensors to detect movements and weight shifts.

They are often used in the care and support of elderly people. With their help, falls or unusual movement patterns are quickly detected and alarms can be triggered.

Advantages for older people

Header SBC English
  1. Early detection of falls: The sensor mat detects when a person falls or remains in an unusual position for a long time. In this case, it immediately sends a notification to care staff or relatives. This means that help can be provided quickly.

  2. Increased safety in everyday life: Intelligent sensor mats offer an additional safety net, especially for senior citizens living alone.

  3. Support for fall prevention: The sensors analyze movement patterns and can help to identify risk areas in the living space. This makes it possible to prevent falls in advance.

  4. Discreet surveillance without cameras: In contrast to surveillance cameras, sensor mats preserve the privacy of older people while still enabling effective security monitoring.

  5. Relief for care staff and relatives: care staff and family members are informed in real time if a critical event occurs. This reduces the need for constant monitoring and enables a targeted response in an emergency.

  6. Integration into smart home systems: Modern sensor mats can be integrated into existing smart home systems and can activate additional functions such as lighting control. Example: If you get up in the night, a night light can turn on automatically, for example.

Intelligent sensor mats help to increase the safety and independence of older people and at the same time make care easier.
