Night light sensors

Barrier-free living: Solutions for independent living

aisle in an apartment with a night light

This article is also available in: Deutsch

Night light sensors are intelligent lighting systems that switch on automatically when darkness is detected or movement is registered. They are often used in bedrooms, hallways and bathrooms to minimize the risk of tripping and falling at night.

Advantages for older people:

  1. Increased safety: Night light sensors illuminate the path when older people get up at night. This reduces the risk of falls.
  2. Convenient to use: automatic activation saves you the hassle of searching for light switches and ensures pleasant lighting.
  3. Energy-saving: LED-based sensor lights consume little power and only switch on when they are needed.
  4. Promoting independence: Older people can move around their home more safely at night without having to rely on help.
  5. Better sleep: Soft, subdued light is less disruptive to sleep than bright ceiling light, so that sleep is hardly affected.

Night light sensors are a simple but effective measure to improve the safety and quality of life of older people.
