Building and renovating for old age: What really makes a difference

Dieser Beitrag ist auch verfügbar auf: Deutsch

Most people want to live in their own four walls for as long as possible. This is not wishful thinking – it is a realistic prospect if the right decisions are made in good time. After all, whether a home will last in old age depends on how well it is prepared for changing needs.

Age-friendly construction and renovation does not mean turning a home into a medical facility. It means designing rooms in such a way that they offer security without restricting independence – and that they think ahead before a problem arises. The good news is that many solutions today are technically sophisticated, aesthetically pleasing and financially accessible through subsidies. However, there is often a lack of knowledge – among families, specialist tradespeople and consultants.

This special topic brings together expert knowledge, practical experience and concrete solutions for age-appropriate living, building and renovation. It is constantly growing – because the topic deserves to be dealt with in the necessary depth.
